Director Krish is undoubtedly one of the most talented directors in Tollywood. He is now gearing up for the release of his dream project Kanche and on this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

Q)Why did you change the release date ?

Initially, we were set for October 2nd but changed our plans and decided for a Diwali release. Now, with the Dussersa slot being open, we once again decided to come out this week. Every thing happened so suddenly but I am very happy that Kanche is releasing on a auspicious day.

Q)How did the idea of Kanche come up ?

Certain stories are so inspiring that you want to narrate them to everyone. One fine day, I came to know that the world war II had a connection with Vizag and nearly 25 lakh Indian soldiers fought that war. I was taken aback and decided to narrate a love story keeping one of the soldiers as the main lead.

Q)Don’t you think it is risky to make a film with this back drop ?

No ! I never felt that way. In fact, I was surprised as no one attempted some thing like this till date. There is risk in everything, but if you narrate the film in a gripping way with a lot of emotion, everyone will connect to it immediately.

Q)What kind of re-search went into the making of the film ?

A lot of pre-production was done for this film. Right from the war weapons to the costumes and several other minute things were followed very carefully. Our main aim was to give the viewer a realistic look which we think we managed with a lot of team work.

Q)How was it working with Varun Tej ?

Varun was our first and final choice for the film. The way he has gone about the role and performed is just amazing. The kid worked very hard and will be touted as a great actor post the release of this film.

Q)Will the film be commercially viable ?

There is nothing called commercial these days. If the story and content of the film is strong everyone will like and watch it. Kanche is rich in its content and will impress everyone.

Q)You have been making some hard hitting films. When will you make a light hearted movie ?

I have always narrated scripts which inspired me at that particular time. When time comes and if I get that right feel, I will surely direct a light hearted film.

Q)Your future projects ?

I am eagerly awaiting the release of Kanche and will only think about my next once the film reaches maximum audience.
