Nithiin and Keerthy Suresh’s romantic family drama, Rang De is all set to hit the screens on March 26th. On this occasion, we had a brief interview with the film’s lyricist Srimani. Here is the transcript.
Q) How did your career start?
I started my career with Sukumar sir’s 100% Love and have now successfully completed 10 years in the industry. To date, I wrote 500 songs approximately.
Q) You are a single card lyricist for Rang De. How do you feel?
I’m glad that director Venky Atluri gave me the chance to write all songs for the album. As I have been traveling with him since his first film, Tholiprema, we both share a good rapport and with that confidence, he has given me this film.
Q) About music director Devi Sri Prasad?
As you all know, he is the most energetic musician in our industry. My frequency with him and his tunes really gel-well and inspire me to write even more catchy lyrics.
Q) Rang De has five different genre songs. How did you manage writing lyrics?
Yes. I will give the entire credit to my director Venky Atluri for coming up with fresh and unique song situations. Moreover, he gives me complete freedom to try something new and believes in my work.
Q) What kind of challenges do you face while writing any song?
Writing every song is a challenge for me because I need to interpret what is in the mind of the director. For this, I need to interact with various people and draw inspiration from real life.
Q) Upcoming projects?
Currently, I am working on a couple of big films like Khiladi. A few more projects are in the discussion stage under Mani Sharma’s music composition.
