Nitro Star Sudheer Babu’s next release is Hunt on 26th January. Prominent producer Ananda Prasad bankrolls it under Bhavya Creations. Srikanth and Bharath play crucial roles. Mahesh directs this action thriller, and Ghibran is the music composer. Ahead of the release, we interacted with director Mahesh, and here is the transcript.

Is there any inspiration behind the film’s story?

The audience would have seen heroes having memory loss in a few films. What happened before losing memory forms the drama. This aspect will be completely different in our Hunt. Hero forgetting his memory and trying to regain it has been portrayed in various films.

How was the support from Sudheer Babu?

Sudheer Babu is a very dedicated and committed person. He is very honest, and I am telling this wholeheartedly. He will be very open, and his discipline is top-notch. There won’t be a heroine in this film which is a risky element. Actors who do commercial flicks think about a few aspects, but Sudheer Babu didn’t have any such thoughts.

It looks like there is only one song in the film. Can you talk about it?

The one song present in the film is a new year’s party anthem. I thought songs would divert the audience. I feel songs aren’t required in films these days. If you look at Karthi’s Khaidi, the entire story happens in one night and revolves around drugs and villains. The same is the case with Vikram. Those films’ success gave me the confidence to make Hunt.

What’s the reason for having Srikanth in the film?

There will be a role model for Sudheer’s character in the film who provides moral support and suggestions to the protagonist. I felt Srikath Garu would be apt for it. Due to sir’s looks and screen presence, I roped him in. I nicely presented him as a person who is in his 40s.

How will you define Hunt in a single line?

It is about a police officer who lost his memory and how he chased the mystery of a bad incident that occurred to him. A person solving something who knows everything is different from solving without having any clue.
