Published on May 30, 2023 2:36 pm IST

Bellamkonda Ganesh, who made a decent debut with Swathimutyam is now ready to enthral with an action thriller, Nenu Student Sir! As the movie is up for release this Friday, we met with the film’s producer for a brief interview. Here’s the transcript.

Tell us about Nenu Student Sir

Nenu Student Sir is a movie that begins with a smartphone and explores how it changes the life of the protagonist. The concept of the movie is relatable and will connect with everyone. The story also touches upon a couple of incidents that we usually ignore in our daily life. Overall, the movie is thrilling and is sure to captivate the audience.

What made you produce this film?

Writer Krishna Chaitanya gave me a 30-minute narration of the story. He told me three mind-blowing twists, and I immediately agreed to do the project. Since Krishna Chaitanya was busy shooting for his next project with Nithiin, he just gave me the story, and I believed that Rakesh Uppalapati would direct this thriller well. As expected, he did a fantastic job.

Do you think Nenu Student Sir will attain the same level of recognition as Naandhi?

I believe so. Be it Naandhi or Nenu Student Sir, I believe in the stories that have a new point. The hero taking revenge legally is the new point in Naandhi, and such a new point is also there in Nenu Student Sir. Bellamkonda is perfectly suited for this role. Except for Baahubali, Happy Days, and Kotha Bangaru Lokam, I Haven’t watched any movie more than once. However, I watched Nenu Student Sir four times. I am sure that the movie will reach everyone because of the content and mind-blowing climax. All age groups will connect to this movie for sure.

Tell us about Ganesh

The character has the same qualities as Bellamkonda Ganesh’s real-life persona. He looks natural with innocence and a smile on his face. He fits the role perfectly, and to say frankly, he lived in the character.

Any specific reason to select Bhagya Shree’s daughter as the heroine?

There was nothing specific. Bhagya Shree played a role in the Bollywood version of Chatrapathi, and she wanted to launch her daughter, Avantika Dassani, in the South Indian film industry. We approached her, and things fell into place. Avantika did a good role in this movie.

What are your future projects?

We have readied a new script for Bellamkonda Sreenivas. It is a fictional biopic, similar to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Rakesh Uppalapati will helm this project. Besides, I am also planning a sequel to Naandhi. I will share more details very soon.
