Nani is ready with his new film V that will release on the 5th of this month on Amazon Prime. On this occasion, we had a detailed interview with him. Here is the transcript.
Are you disappointed with V’s OTT release?
Not at all. V was supposed to release on March 25th but two days before that the film was postponed due to lockdown. I thought the situation would get better in a month or two. But as the days got extended with lockdown, I started feeling frustrated and disappointed big time thinking will the film at least release or not. Now that it is coming out on OTT, I am very happy.
Did you watch the film. How confident are you?
Yes, I had a special screening for my family on a big screen. I loved the film and it will surely impress you in a big way with all the mass elements and action between me and Sudheer Babu. The film is made on a very stylish manner and will shock you in many which ways.
V is your third film with Indraganti. What changes did you observe this time?
The moment he came to me with this story, I had a few doubts. But the moment we went on sets, things were different altogether. Mohan sir will shock you with this film and once it releases, everyone will be only talking about his work mostly. This is his massiest film to date and he has gone all out and everytime I work with him, there is something or the other to learn.
Looking back at your 25 film career. What do you feel?
For me 25 is just a number and I do not believe in te number game. Looking back, I have a lot of gratitude towards all those who worked with me and pushed me to be here in this position. I feel that the best has just begun and in the next two years, you wil see a new version of Nani with better roles and subjects.
About your role?
I cannot say much about my role but it will be the massiet role I have done to date. My entry, fights and swag, everything will be special in this film and Indraganti has really shocked me with the way he has showcased me.
Sharing screen space with Sudheer Babu?
He has a solid role in the film and drives it with his character. Sudheer Babu has outdone himself in this film and his range as an actor will improve. I had a lot of fun acting with him and our chemistry willbe sizzling on screen.
Don’t you think playing a negative role was a risk?
Laughs! These days, villains are being liked more. In fact all the girls like bad boys these days. Coming to the negative roles, I am totally fine in doing such stuff and unless and until you challange yourself with roles, how you push your career ahead.
About Aditi Rao and Nivetha Thomas roles?
As expected, her role comes as a surprise and has been kept under wraps. Once the film is out, she will be seen more in promotions as well. Nivetha too has a solid role and she looks glamorous in the film.
Tell us about the whole lockdown expireence?
I was shooting non stop for my films and used to miss my family a lot. But during this lockdown, I made full use of it and spent time with my son Arjun. I also had a plan of getting fitter and also thought of bulking up with a six pack body. But I didnlt any of it and just ate and slept
Future Projects?
As of now, I start shooting Tuck Jagdish in a few days. The film is 50% complete and once that is done, I have Shyam Singha Rai. Apart from these two films, I have also signed two other films. One is with debutante and the other is with an established director.
