Interview: Panja Vaisshnav Tej – I didn’t aim for star status with Aadikeshava
Published on Nov 21, 2023 7:09 pm IST

Panja Vaisshnav Tej made his debut with the National Award-winning film Uppena. Now, he is coming up with a mass entertainer, Aadikeshava which releases on November 24, 2023. Sreeleela played the female lead. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya produced the movie under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinema. Debutant Srikanth Reddy helmed it. Ahead of the release, Vaisshnav Tej interacted with the media, and here is the transcript.

Why did you act in an action film?

I didn’t accept Aadikeshava in the penchant to become a star hero with just one film. I like commercial cinema and will try all genres in that space. Aadikeshava is one such genuine attempt.

How different is Aadikeshava from other action films?

The movie will be relatable. I won’t be hitting tens and hundreds of goons like a big-star hero. The fights will look natural. The climax sequence will be a bit cinematic, but the other scenes won’t be over the top.

How about the romance part in the film?

The romance will be innocent and cute. The romantic sequences will leave a pleasant smile on the faces of viewers. Sreeleela and I did rehearsals to get the chemistry right. It took a few days to get the required energy and play the character right.

How supportive was Sreeleela on the sets?

Leela made me feel comfortable and encouraged me to push myself to get the dance moves right. I thank Sekhar master and his assistant for their kind support. Their cooperation made it possible for us to complete two songs in five days.

Did the director Srikanth keep up his word?

Srikanth Reddy has enhanced the film on screen even better than what he narrated to me. Srikanth and I worked in tandem to make the scenes appear more grounded and relatable.

What can audiences expect from the film?

Aadikeshava is a simple commercial film that will entertain audiences for 2 hours and 10 minutes. People will be thoroughly entertained, and they won’t have complaints. The conflict point will touch their hearts and is novel, too.
