Sharwanand is all set with his new film Sreekaram. The film releases tomorrow and on this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

What attracted you to this film?

The story is quite special and the basic question of why a farmer’s son is not preferring to become a farmer haunted me in the story. The drama and message drew me to this film.

How different is this film from Maharshi?

Maharshi was more about weekend farming and this film is completely different and deals with farming and how we should give importance to it and support it from a grass root level. The farming is just a backdrop and the father-son love story will highlight the issue.

What kind of effect this film leave on you?

I had a farm and during the shoot, lockdown happened. I stayed back at my farm with basic needs and just loved doing farming. I have made a decision that if at all I stop doing films, I will pick farming as a profession.

Working experience with Rao Ramesh?

Rao Ramesh is a superb actor and he did a solid job in the film. After 12 years, we are working together and he plays my dad in this film and our love-hate relationship is going to be quite special for the audience.

Don’t you think Sreekaram is a risky subject?

Some films come at a time when things have to be said. Such films have strong emotions and it was not at all a risky subject. We shot the film on a very limited budget and everyone has made good money and our film is a safe project.

Working experience with Priyanka and director Kishore?

Priyanka is a sweet girl to work with. She has done a good job and is an asset to this film. Coming to the director Kishore, his story itself is so good. The manner in which he directed the film with beautiful emotions is the best part.

About Sai Madhav Burra’s dialogues?

He is one of the biggest lifelines of the film and his dialogues are going to be superb and thought-provoking. The ones which come during the emotional scenes will leave you teary-eyed.

A word about Maha Samudram and Adallu Meeku Joharlu?

Both the films are being made in a different genre. Mahasamudram is 60% complete and Ajay Bhupathi is doing a superb job. Adallu Meeku Joharlu is a fun film and is about the story of a bachelor.
