SKN is a noted producer in the industry. He has come a long way in his career and now that he is celebrating his birthday, we caught up with him for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.
How is life during the Corona time?
I have got used to the situation and have six projects on floors as of now. Three of them are for the big screen and the rest are for OTT. This was not planned but due to Corona everything has got changed and I am not complaining at all. I love being busy and get associated with multiple projects.
Tell us about your association with Maruthi, Bunny Vas, UV Creations Vamsi?
All of us were close friends even before we entered the industry. Everyone had their own struggle and turned into producers by our own hard work. We always collaborate together and always share ideas. There are no creative difference and always help each other with our films and production.
As a producer, what is your take on the film business post the second wave?
Everyone is getting ready for the third wave and we hope it does not come. Coming to the theatres, if a good film releases, the crowds will automatically come to the screens. This was proved with films like Krack, Jathi Rathnalu, and Uppena. Once things get set, the crowds will surely back and I feel that the big-screen experience cannot be beaten.
Tell us about your future projects?
I have collaborated with Sai Rajesh on three projects. I will be making two films with Color Photo director Sandeep Raj as well. Then, I have projects lined up with V I Anand and Rahul Sankrytan. I am also working as a co-producer with two of Maruthi’s films.
What will be the future of the industry in the days to come?
Covid has given a big beating to the film industry. The producers have seen a lot of loss as the theatres were closed. The government should also come forward and help the industry as it has suffered much. So, in the days to come, release dates are not in our hands. Then there is OTT pressure but things will surely work as big-screen experience is the best.
