Butta Bomma, starring Anikha Surendran, Arjun Das and Surya Vashistta, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release tomorrow. On this occasion, we met with the actor Surya Vashitta for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.
How did you enter the film industry?
My father Satyam garu (late), who worked as a co-director for many movies of Raghavendra Rao, Trivikram and Rajamouli, wanted to see me as an actor. He asked me to come back to India from the US, where I work as a software developer. Because of his willpower and Trivikram sir’s guidance, I became a part of Butta Bomma.
Which aspect made you do this film?
To be honest, director Ramesh didn’t narrate me the story. I watched the original version along with my family during the pandemic and luckily, I became part of its Telugu remake. The rawness of the story made me excited to be a part of this movie. I am quite happy for being roped in Butta Bomma for the role of Murali.
Tell us more about the Butta Bomma
There are a lot of differences between the original movie and Butta Bomma, especially related to the scenes of Murali. It’s completely a fresh version with very few similarities in the second half.
Do you think the audience will watch this remake?
Even though the original version was watched by many, I believe that Butta Bomma has an important story that has to be told. And the reach will be more in Telugu states than in Kerala. The story has been changed according to our nativity and I can say that people will like Butta Bomma for sure.
Working experience with Anikha and Arjun Das
It’s fun and fantastic working with both of them. Anikha is new to Tollywood. So, I helped her practise dialogues. She is a sweetheart and a good co-star as well. Arjun garu is a big star down South but he is so humble and warm. He used to guide me during the action scenes.
Tell us about director Ramesh
Working with our director Ramesh garu is a challenging experience. He didn’t relax until he got exactly what he wanted from us. He has a great future in Tollywood.
Future Projects
I heard around 6-7 stories but didn’t okay any of them. I like to do action-oriented movies as I feel that I am suited for such roles. I will update the details if I sign any new projects.
