How did this story come to you?

After watching Ghazi, I was spellbound with the way Sankalp narrated the film. One fine day, he came to me and opened his laptop and showed me some snaps of the space and told me that he is making a film related to space. The idea itself was quite interesting and once again when Sankalp came with the full script, I loved it and there was no looking back.

How difficult was it to portray the role of an astronaut?

It was very challenging as there was no reference point in Telugu films. Everything was quite imaginary and the suits which we wore were so thick that it was very hard to carry them. For over forty days, we shot on ropes with zero gravity and everything was very challenging for me.

How much of the space set up is showcased in the film?

The entire second half will be in the outer space and this will be a great experience for the viewers. The VFX work is superb in the film and Sankalp had a clear vision how to shoot all the scenes. He had experts flown down from Bulgaria and every shot was planned and choreographed in a perfect plan.

What is Antariksham all about?

The film is the story of a Telugu guy named Dev and how he makes it big in life after going to this space mission and how he makes his country proud. Decision making in the story is key and how certain plans go wrong and how my team fixes it is the film all about.

How will the mass audience receive this film?

Times have changed now. The audience knows what film is he going to watch after watching the posters or trailer. I feel that as it is even newer for them, this story will impress them big time.

Do you feel that you are experimenting too much in your career?

I don’t feel so. I always wanted to do films which are different and that’s what attracts me. Even my dad asks me as to how do I get such thoughts to do different films.

Will this film win a national award like Ghazi?

I am sure that this film will surely be recognized on a national level. Krish has told me that many producers are very curious how this film is going to shape up. Post Baahubali, this film will surely shift the focus of Bollywood towards Telugu cinema.

About F2?

F2 is a super fun film and it has a very universal theme of frustrated husbands. I had a superb time working with Venky sir and it will be a crowd winner for sure.
