Falaknuma Das is a film which has created a good buzz for itself. As the film is ready for a release, we caught up with the main lead and director Viswak Sen for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

What made you join movie field?

I have done animation before joining films. Making films was a passion and here I am chasing my dreams. Things have become even better as I myself am directing Falaknuma Das.

When did this project shape up?

I already 20 days for Falaknuma and that is the moment I got an offer to do Ee Nagarainiki Emaindi. As I was the producer of Falaknuma Das, I stopped my film and did that film. Once that film released, I am ready with my prestigious presentation.

Why did you choose Falaknuma Das as the title?

Our film is a remake and the original had its own theme. So, I thought that the film should be based in old city of Hyderabad as it has a lot of culture attached to it. That is the reason we also named the film Falaknuma Das.

You have produced, acted and directed the film. Which part was the most difficult?

I feel that production was the most difficult. Handling everyone and getting things done on time was a big headache for me. Acting and direction come naturally to me and that was never a problem.

Did you make changes to the original?

Yes, we made 50 % changes from the original. The film is technically very strong and the sound design in particular will impress you even more. I can guarantee you and say that one cannot expect what is going to happen next.

What made you choose Tharun Bhaskar as an actor?

Bhaskar is a top class actor and not many know that. I witnessed that when he was directing me in Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi. So, I decided that I wanted him in my film. He plays a cop in the film and he has done a good job.

Why are you only choosing rugged characters?

Frankly speaking, I don’t have a choice to choose from the offers. But in my upcoming film Cartoon, I do a lot of comedy and will surprise the audience.

You seem to be very confident about the film?

There is nothing wrong in that as I am aware that the film will do well right from the first day onwards. The craze for the film is something else and I found out that when the tickets were sold out for the preview shows in just half an hour.
