Tollywood had a great Diwali season, with all three releases, Amaran, Lucky Baskhar, and KA, doing well at the ticket windows. While Lucky Baskhar, fronted by Dulquer Salmaan, dominated the first weekend at the Nizam box office, Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran took the lead on the weekdays, surprising the trade pundits.
Until yesterday, Amaran collected a distributor share of Rs. 8 crores in Nizam, which is nothing short of a sensation. Lucky Baskhar has made around Rs. 7.10 crore share, while Kiran Abbavaram’s KA has earned Rs. 4.5 crore share. KA raked in Rs. 65 lakhs share on day one with fewer screens, and its total collections to date show the kind of phenomenal hold the film had during the working days.
All the above figures are exclusive of GST. In the long run, Amaran, Lucky Baskhar, and KA are expected to earn a total distributor share of Rs. 10 crores, Rs. 9 crores, and Rs. 5 crores, respectively. The reports and word of mouth of the upcoming releases, Kanguva and Matka, will also decide the long-run of these Diwali releases.
