December first week would have seen an intense clash between two National Award-winning actors, Allu Arjun and Vicky Kaushal. While Allu Arjun’s Pushpa The Rule is slated for a huge release worldwide on December 5, Vicky’s Chhaava was originally scheduled to open in cinemas on December 6. Incidentally, Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in both movies.
Chhaava is an ambitious historical magnum opus based on the life and heroics of the legendary Maratha emperor Chatrapati Shivaji’s son, Sambhaji Maharaj. Fans and trade analysts were anxiously hoping for the Pushpa 2-Chhaava clash to be averted, as a clash with Pushpa 2 would have gravely affected Chhaava’s box office prospects, especially outside Maharashtra. However, the recent reports indicate that Chhaava has been postponed indefinitely.
And the latest updates reveal that Chhaava makers are considering January 10 to release the movie. If finalized, Chhaava would enter into a direct clash with Ram Charan’s highly anticipated pan-India political drama, Game Changer, which is also gearing up for a mega global release on January 10. However, an official announcement regarding the new release date is awaited.
Chhaava is directed by acclaimed Bollywood cinematographer Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan. Legendary music director AR Rahman has composed the film’s soundtrack. Chhaava’s theatrical trailer will be launched very soon.
