Kollywood Superstar Rajinikanth returned to Vizag just a while ago to resume shooting for his ongoing gangster drama, Coolie. Pictures and videos of Rajini coming out of Vizag Airport are going viral on social media. Rajini’s Vizag visit comes right after a minor political storm he caused a couple of days ago.
Rajini’s comments on aged politicians at an event to launch a book on the late DMK leader and former Tamil Nadu CM M Karunanidhi on Saturday became a hot topic in Tamil political circles. Likening the veteran DMK leaders to “old students,” Rajini said that the DMK party has a lot of old students who refuse to leave the classroom even after securing ranks in the examinations. Rajini went on to say that his friend, Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister and DMK General Secretary Mr. Duraimurugan could even make life difficult for Karunanidhi.
Responding to Rajinikanth’s comments, Duraimurugan mocked the Superstar and said that certain “aged actors” with falling teeth are continuing to act by denying opportunities to upcoming actors. When asked about Duraimurugan’s comments by the media at Chennai airport earlier today, Rajini said that Duraimurugan has been a long-time friend and that their friendship will continue forever. Rajini also congratulated Tamil star Vijay’s on launching his political party flag.
Coolie is a high-budget entertainer that is being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced under the Sun Pictures banner. The film also features Kannada star Upendra in a crucial role. Anirudh Ravichander is the film’s music composer. Stay tuned for further updates.
