Arjun Das’ heartfelt note on dubbing for Kalki 2898 AD wins hearts

By now, those who have watched the magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD would have realised that it was Arjun Das who dubbed for Lord Krishna, portrayed by Krishna Kumar (Soorarai Pottru fame). Arjun Das, who felt honoured to be part of Kalki 2898 AD, penned a heartwarming note expressing his gratitude.

He wrote, “A few weeks ago, Swapna called and asked if I would dub for Lord Krishna in Kalki. I was hesitant until she mentioned I’d be talking to Amitabh Bachchan and asked me to trust them. As a lifelong fan, I wasn’t sure I could do it.”

“When I arrived in Hyderabad, I listened to Amitabh Sir’s dub. Hearing his iconic voice brought back memories of mimicking his dialogues in school. It took a moment to realize I would be sharing dialogues with him. After gathering myself, I started dubbing,” said the actor.

He thanked Nag Ashwin and Swapna Dutt for believing in him and expressed his gratitude for making this a lifetime achievement for him. He continued, “Thank you to Vyjayanthi Movies, Swapna, Nag Ashwin, Prabhas Garu, Amitabh Bachchan Sir, Deepika ma’am, Kamal Sir, and everyone involved in the movie for allowing me to be part of this magnum opus. It was an absolute honor. Watch Kalki at a theater near you!”

He concluded his note by saying, “As a kid, I never dreamt of sharing dialogues with Bachchan Sir. Thank you, team Kalki. If anyone asks me, ‘Mere paas building hai, property hai, bank balance hai, bangla hai, gaadi hai, kya hai tumhare paas?’ I will proudly say, ‘Mere paas Bachchan Sir ke saath ek dialogue hai.'” Arjun Das was highly praised for his heartfelt gratitude, and his fans loved his dubbing of the film in both Telugu and Hindi.
