The adult comedy entertainer Bad Newz, featuring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk in the lead roles, was released yesterday amidst good hype. The chartbuster songs, a well-cut trailer, and Vicky Kaushal’s goodwill among the audience helped the film achieve a good opening. Bad Newz is also the highest opener in Vicky Kaushal’s career with over 8.62 crores nett.
But the film didn’t register a notable growth on its second day, which is surely not a good sign. There is improvement in collections, but it is negligible, and this indicates that comedy drama will be having a tough time once the weekdays start. Films like Bad Newz depend on metro cities, but the limited growth on Saturday almost sealed its fate.
The reviews aren’t encouraging, either. Many are bashing the film on social media for the concept it portrays. Anand Tiwari, who directed the cult classic Barfi, helmed this flick. Karan Johar, in association with Amazon Prime, jointly produced Bad Newz.
