Published on Aug 24, 2024 12:00 pm IST

Soon after senior actress Hema was arrested by the Crime Branch Police in connection with the sensational rave party case in June, the Movie Artiste’s Association (MAA) suspended Hema’s membership as a disciplinary measure. Hema was later released by the cops, and in a series of media interviews, she lamented that it’s not right to suspend her based on media speculations.

Hema alleged that she was wrongly implicated in the case and clarified that she never consumed drugs. The senior character artiste went on to reveal that she underwent tests at some of India’s best labs to prove her innocence. Recently, Hema wrote a letter to MAA President Vishnu Manchu, expressing how she has been going through mental turmoil due to the false allegations made against her. She also enclosed the medical certificates issued by the labs.

Upon verifying the facts as per Hema’s submission, the MAA Executive Committee, under Vishnu Manchu’s instructions, has decided to revoke her suspension. Hema said in a recent interview that she will be resuming her shootings very soon.
