Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT is scheduled for a grand release tomorrow. Despite low hype, the bookings of this Venkat Prabhu’s directorial are sensational in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and international markets. Around fifteen 4 AM shows are scheduled in Hyderabad tomorrow, cashing in on the hype.
But the movie has now faced a significant blow in the Hindi belt. According to the latest update, The GOAT’s Hindi version will not be released in PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. For quite some time, the national chains have adhered to a policy requiring all new Hindi movies to maintain an 8-week gap between their theatrical release and their premiere on OTT platforms.
The GOAT will arrive on OTT before 8 weeks of its theatrical release, and, hence, its Hindi version will not be released in the three national chains. However, PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis will be releasing the non-Hindi versions in South Indian markets.
Despite the efforts put in by producer Archana Kalpathi for a big release in Hindi, the result is not as expected. In the last couple of years, Tamil blockbusters like Leo, Jailer, Vikram, and Ponniyin Selvan failed to make a mark in Hindi as they failed to adhere to the OTT rules set by the Multiplex Association of India.
