PAN India star Prabhas and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan acted in the sci-fi action thriller Kalki 2898 AD, the biggest hit of the year in Indian cinema. Though the duo had no combo scenes, the stage is set for an exciting battle between these two stars in Kalki 2. The exciting development is that Kamal Haasan and Prabhas will likely lock horns at the box office in Summer 2025.

It is already confirmed that Prabhas’ next outing, The Raja Saab, will be out in theatres on April 10, 2025. According to the latest buzz in Kollywood film circles, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life is also expected to release on the same date. Initially, plans were made to release Thug Life in December 2024, but due to production delays, it was deferred.

If Thug Life releases as per the buzz, it will enjoy a five-day extended weekend, with Tamil New Year falling on Monday. Hence, the makers would look to release on April 10, 2025, to utilize the long weekend advantage. The OTT rights of this Kamal starrer are said to be the highest in Tamil cinema.

If the speculations turn out to be true, it will be interesting to see the faceoff between Kalki 2898 AD actors. The Raja Saab is a romantic horror comedy directed by Maruthi, while Thug Life is an action drama that marks the reunion of Kamal and Mani Ratnam after three long decades.
