Kollywood star Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated action thriller, The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT), was released yesterday and is running to packed houses in Tamil Nadu. The actor, who was paid a whopping Rs 200 crore as his remuneration, has achieved an unexpected feat.
With an advance tax payment of Rs 80 crore, Vijay is ranked second in Fortune India’s ‘The Star Cast’ list of highest tax-paying Indian celebrities for the financial year 2023-24. Thalapathy has surpassed popular Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, and Hrithik Roshan, and star cricketer Virat Kohli to achieve this feat. With Rs 92 crore, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has topped the list for this year.
