Published on Aug 7, 2024 9:00 am IST

Nayanthara, the star heroine of Kollywood, is excelling in both acting and production, boasting an exciting lineup of upcoming films, including Thani Oruvan 2, Test, Dear Students, Toxic, Kannappa, Mannangatti Since 1960, and Mookuthi Amman 2. Her controversial film, Annapoorani, has once again sparked attention, propelling her back into the spotlight.

In January 2024, Nayanthara’s landmark 75th film, Annapoorani, was pulled from Netflix and Simply South OTT platforms following strong objections from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, who claimed the movie offended Hindu sentiments.

After six months, Annapoorani is set to return to the OTT space. Starting August 9, 2024, this Tamil film will be available for streaming exclusively on Simply South for viewers worldwide, except in India. The streaming service has officially confirmed the release. However, there is no information about its availability in India on any other OTT platform.

Produced by Zee Studios, Naad Studios, and Trident Arts, Annapoorani features a star-studded cast including Jai, Sathyaraj, KS Ravi Kumar, Redin Kingsley, Achyuth Kumar, Kumari Sachu, Renuka, Karthik Kumar, and Suresh Chakkaravarthy. The film’s music is composed by Thaman. Stay tuned for more updates on Nayanthara’s upcoming projects.
