Just a couple of days before the release of her documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale on Netflix, Lady Superstar Nayanthara accused actor Dhanush of demanding Rs. 10 crore in compensation for using a 3-second clip from his production Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

Although Dhanush initially stayed silent, tensions became clear when the two actors avoided each other at a recent wedding. Now, Dhanush’s production company, Wunderbar Films, has filed a civil suit in the Madras High Court. The lawsuit targets Nayanthara, her husband-director Vignesh Shivan, their company Rowdy Pictures, and Netflix’s Indian partner, Los Gatos Production Services, over the unauthorised use of visuals from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

The court has allowed the case to proceed, noting that all involved parties fall under its jurisdiction. However, the judge has yet to comment on the case’s merit.
