Globally acclaimed Indian slice-of-life drama, All We Imagine As Light, has lost out to the Spanish musical crime comedy, Emilia Perez, in the Non-English Language Motion Picture category at the Golden Globes 2025. The 82nd edition of this iconic film awards ceremony is currently underway at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA, USA, on January 5.

All We Imagine As Light, represented by the film’s director Payal Kapadia at the Golden Globes, had many movie aficionados rooting for it. Payal, who was nominated in the Best Director category, has lost out to Brady Corbet (The Brutalist). Emilia Perez, starring Zoe Saldana, Karla Sofía Gascón, and Selena Gomez in prominent roles, has been nominated in 10 categories, including Best Motion Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress, among other major nominations.

All We Imagine As Light first made news when it won the Grand Jury Prize at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and scripted history in May last year. The film was released by actor-filmmaker Rana Daggubati in December and had a modest run in cinemas across the country. The film is currently streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.
