During a recent roundtable discussion with producer Boney Kapoor, Tollywood producer Naga Vamsi, actor Siddharth, and others, Naga Vamsi remarked on Allu Arjun starred Pushpa 2’s box office success, saying, ‘I don’t think the whole of Mumbai slept when Pushpa 2 collected over Rs. 80 crore nett in a single day, especially on a Sunday.’

This comment caught the attention of Bollywood, particularly director Siddharth Anand, whose recent film Fighter didn’t perform as expected at the box office. On his X account, Siddharth responded, “Mumbai has always been the city that never sleeps. Some people don’t know our real Mumbai!” He also added, “By the way, I have only lived in Bandra and Juhu, just FYI.”

Siddharth’s remarks were seen as a response to Naga Vamsi, sparking a debate online. While some Bollywood fans supported Siddharth, many from the South defended Naga Vamsi and questioned why Bollywood bigwigs hadn’t acknowledged Pushpa 2’s success in the Hindi market. They also criticised Siddharth for his comments on the audience following the poor performance of Fighter.

The discussion is ongoing, and many are waiting to see if Naga Vamsi will address the situation. Stay tuned for updates.
