India’s first aerial action film, Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, is still minting decent revenues at the ticket windows. The movie, directed by Siddharth Anand, opened mostly to positive reviews from critics. Fighter’s performance in international markets has been superb, while it was a bit underwhelming in India.
The movie has now gone past the 350 crores gross mark at the global level. Out of this, 253 crores came from India, while the contribution from overseas accumulated to about 99 crores. In North America, Fighter is the highest grosser of Hrithik Roshan. The performance in other international markets also has been remarkable.
This is the third film for Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand together after War and Bang Bang. Rishabh Sawhney played the antagonist. The movie also featured Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi in vital roles. Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures bankrolled this project, which has its tunes by Vishal-Shekhar.
