Popular Sandalwood actor Darshan’s fate hangs in the balance as he awaits the Bengaluru High Court’s further ruling. Darshan, who is currently languishing in a Bengaluru prison, is the prime accused in the brutal assault and murder of his deceased fan, Renukaswamy. His judicial remand ended on July 4.
Meanwhile, Darshan’s estranged wife, Vijayalakshmi, wrote a letter to the Bengaluru Commissioner of Police. She informed the top cop that she is the only legally wedded wife of Darshan and not Pavithra Gowda, another prime accused in Renukaswamy’s murder, as claimed by the police department and the media. Vijayalakshmi clarified that Pavithra is just a friend of Darshan and that she was already married to a person named Sanjay Singh, with whom she has a daughter.
Vijayalakshmi lamented that ever since the Bengaluru police claimed in a media interaction that Darshan married Pavithra Gowda, several political leaders and netizens began to spread the same news. She also requested the Commissioner to withdraw any such claims by him and the department in the police records, as it may cause issues for her and her son Vineesh in the future.
During the probe, it was revealed that Renukaswamy, a die-hard fan of Darshan, was upset with Darshan’s closeness to Pavithra Gowda and had sent her derogatory messages on social media. The victim was allegedly kidnapped by Darshan’s fans, who brought him to Bengaluru, kept him in a shed, and tortured him to death.
