Tollywood star Naga Chaitanya’s love for racing and motor sports needs no introduction. Taking his passion to the next level, the actor has now become the proud owner of the Hyderabad Blackbirds franchise at the Indian Racing Festival (IRF). It’s well known that Chay is an ardent follower of Formula One and has an enviable collection of supercars and sports bikes.
Chay’s Hyderabad Blackbirds is one of six teams that will be competing in the Indian Racing Festival, the world’s first gender-neutral, franchise-based racing competition featuring expert drivers from both India and abroad. Popular Indian celebrities like Sourav Ganguly, Arjun Kapoor, and John Abraham are the other franchise owners at the Indian Racing Festival.
The Indian Racing League 2024 flags off on August 24 at the Madras International Circuit. This will be followed by India’s first-ever night street circuit race at the Chennai Formula Racing Circuit a week later. The Hyderabad Blackbirds will compete against teams from Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, and Kolkata in the opening season.
