Lately, the performance of movies on small screens has come down significantly. Films that didn’t do good business in theatres are ending up getting good TRPs, but those that earned good collections aren’t receiving the desired response on television. This evening, three films had their world television premiere around the same time.
They are Nani’s, Hi Nanna, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Telugu dubbed version), and Venkatesh’s Saindhav. Hi Nanna aired on Gemini TV, and Venkatesh’s Saindhav was telecasted on ETV. On the other hand, SRK’s film was broadcasted on ZEE Telugu. Hi, Nanna is a successful venture at the box office with superb collections from overseas. The Telugu version of King Khan’s Jawan did a record business and was declared a mega blockbuster. Saindhav disappointed heavily, and it didn’t make much noise at the box office.
There is an interesting contest going on among these three films, and according to the latest trend, Saindhav should attract more audiences, given its underwhelming performance in theatres. While Jawan and Saindhav are out-and-out action entertainers, Hi Nanna is a family drama laced with adorable romance. The TRP reports of these films will be out in two weeks, and let’s see who will win this exciting race.
