Vijay Devarakonda’s brother, Anand Devarakonda is making his debut in Tollywood with the film Dorasani. On the occasion of the film’s release, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.
Tell us about Dorasani?
Dorasani is a periodic love story set in the rural areas of Telangana. The film is a very realistic approach towards filmmaking and none of the roles are forced. The happenings are real and we have shot the film is some real locations to get the authentic vibe. The hard-hitting proceedings will surely shock the audience.
How did you bag Dorasani?
This offer came to me as many knew that I was Vijay Devarakonda’s brother. I met Mahendra and heard this script from him and wanted to do it any cost. He asked me and Shivtmika to audition for the role and we were on board after two months.
What was Vijay’s reaction after watching the film?
Vijay was super tensed before watching the film. He had no hopes on the project and watched it with an open mind. Once he saw me perform, he was very happy. There is no denying the fact that he is even more tensed now as the film is ready for a release.
Tell us about your role in the film?
I play a young lad called Raju who is a poor man. His life changes upside down after he falls in love with Dorasani. My character has been narrated in a very realistic manner which will connect to many in the audience.
Working experience with Shivatmika?
She has done a superb job in the film. Her role will be remembered for a long time to come and Shivatmika will surprise you with her memorable performance. We had a great time shooting for the film and have become good friends now.
Future Projects?
Everything depends on how Dorasani fares at the box office. I have zeroed in on two subjects and need to see which I should choose next.
