Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone starred in a lead role in Prabhas’ blockbuster sci-fi mythological magnum opus, Kalki 2898 AD. Given the significance of her character in the film’s first part, Deepika’s role will have more prominence in the highly anticipated sequel, which is expected to commence shooting in summer 2025.
However, for Deepika, her little daughter Dua Padukone Singh is her first priority. At a recent get-together organized by Deepika and her husband, Ranveer Singh, to introduce Dua Padukone Singh to the Bollywood media, Deepika had said that she is in no hurry to resume work as she doesn’t want to leave her daughter with a nanny. Deepika made these comments when a media person asked her about filming Kalki 2. It’s well known that Deepika had said some time back that she doesn’t want to hire a nanny for Dua. “I will raise my daughter myself, just the way my mom raised me,” said the star heroine.
Kalki 2, also starring the Indian cinema legends Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in key roles, will be directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by veteran filmmaker Ashwini Dutt under his Vyjayanthi Movies banner. The movie’s unit had wrapped up over thirty percent of Kalki 2’s shoot during the filming of the first part itself. The highly anticipated sequel is expected to hit theaters worldwide in 2026.
