Before the release of Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD, some were doubtful about its performance in the Hindi belt. The low-key promotions made a few underestimate the movie’s box office potential. However, the advance bookings for the opening day gave a clearer picture of the film’s craze in the Hindi heartland.

The icing on the cake for Kalki 2898 AD was Prabhas’ enormous following among the masses. On the first day, the mythological sci-fi entertainer earned 22.5 crores nett. While trade expected the film to drop on the second day (working day), it did the opposite by registering growth in the collections. After collecting 23.25 crores nett on day 2, the biggie earned 26.25 nett on day 3.

The T-20 World Cup final between India and South Africa curtailed the growth on the third day. But the movie is regaining its lost ground today with mind-blowing occupancies all over North India right from the morning shows. Looking at the trend, Nag Ashwin’s directorial is eyeing a 40-crore Sunday. The trade estimate was around 100 crores nett for the four-day weekend, but Kalki is all set to exceed the expectations by a big margin.
