Kanguva, the soon-to-release pan-India action fantasy drama, is the most expensive project in Kollywood star Suriya’s career and the Tamil film industry. Also starring Bollywood stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in lead roles, this Siva directorial is slated for release on November 14. The hype and expectations around the movie are soaring as the release day approaches.

Suriya kicked off Kanguva promotions last week in Mumbai. In a latest interview, he revealed how Kanguva is a significant milestone in Tamil cinema. “We are completely aware that we are entering a completely different world. Of course we have seen Baahubali, RRR, and Kalki, but for Tamil, Kanguva will be that one big first step. We have seen it from other languages, but for Tamil, it’s time we do something as big as this is what I think. To my knowledge, I don’t think anybody has introduced this world in a Tamil film,” said the star hero.

Suriya went on to say that if we take archaeological references and Tamil literature, everything goes back at least 2,500 years. “I could relate to the story, and I could completely connect with the events happening in the film. Just before the story narration, I went to Keeladi (a village in Tamil Nadu), and I was mesmerized by seeing 1,800 years back they had jewellery, a kind of lifestyle, the brick chambers, and the water irrigation. Most of the countries don’t even have a history of 500 years,” said the power-packed performer.
