Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa is getting all the attention due to its massive star cast. Top stars Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Mohanlal are part of this prestigious project, which is being made on a massive budget. The film’s teaser was recently screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, and the response was phenomenal. Today, the makers held an event in Hyderabad and launched the teaser digitally.
Kalamukha, who heads a tribe, orders his men to uproot a Shiva Linga, but Kannappa (played by Vishnu Manchu), an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, kills them all. Kalamukha is shocked upon learning that his men were killed by just one man. Vishnu Manchu then makes a power-packed entry, fighting against the enemies.
The teaser makes us understand that Kannappa is an ambitious project, and the focus is more on the action part. Why are these tribal people indulging in a war with Vishnu? What is Mohan Babu’s role in the film? We need to wait for a few more days to know the answers. It is now clear that Akshay Kumar plays Lord Shiva, while we don’t get to see much of Prabhas apart from a small shot.
Priety Mukundan is the female lead. Mukesh Kumar Singh, who helmed the Maha Bharat serial, is directing this fantasy action drama. Mohan Babu is bankrolling Kannappa under the banners of 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment. Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy are composing the tunes.
