Legendary Telugu film star Krishnam Raju’s wife, Shyamala Devi, has made a big revelation today. She took part in the 127th birth anniversary celebrations of the iconic Telugu freedom fighter, Alluri Seetharamaraju, earlier today.
Interacting with the media on the sidelines of the celebrations, Shyamala Devi revealed her dream to make a film based on Alluri Seetharamaraju with Prabhas. “Alluri Seetharamaraju will come back to life on screen if Prabhas plays his character. Many fans wish to see Prabhas as Alluri. I will convey fans’ wishes to Prabhas and try my best to see the project through,” she said.
Shyamala Devi went on to recollect how her husband and veteran actor-politician Krishnam Raju had lobbied for Alluri’s statue in parliament 15 years ago. “Krishnam Raju garu had met with the then Speaker Meira Kumar and requested her permission for Alluri’s statue. But his wish was never fulfilled for some reason. We will now request the President and Prime Minister of India regarding the statue,” she added.
Needless to say, Prabhas as Alluri will surely be a treat for all his fans. However, Prabhas has his hands full with highly-anticipated projects such as Raja Saab, Salasar 2, and Spirit for the next couple of years. It remains to be seen whether or not he will consider Alluri’s biopic in the future.
