Varun Tej and Meenakshi Chaudhary will next be seen in the high-budget pan-India period action drama, Matka. The film is set against the backdrop of gambling mafia in Vizag. The film’s first look poster featuring Varun Tej as Matka kingpin piqued everyone’s curiosity.

As per the latest updates from the movie’s unit, Matka’s new schedule is currently underway in Kakinada. The makers unveiled a special poster in which Varun Tej wields a gun in his hand and stands in front of a cruise ship at Kakinada port. In Matka, Varun Tej portrays a character that evolves from a young gambler to a kingpin who rules the underworld between the 50s to 80s time period.

Palasa fame Katuna Kumar is directing the movie. Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi plays a key role in the movie. Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Thalluri are bankrolling the project under the Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainment banners. GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the soundtrack.
