Actor Varun Tej is currently working on the pan-India period action drama, Matka. The film is based on gambling, and it is inspired by some real incidents that occurred in Vizag between 1950 and 1980. Featuring Guntur Kaaram actress Meenakshi Chowdary as the female lead, the Karuna Kumar directorial has wrapped up a couple of crucial schedules so far, including an extended schedule in Vizag.

As per the latest updates, Matka’s next schedule will begin on June 12. The film’s production design team is erecting giant sets to recreate vintage Vizag to film several key scenes and songs in the upcoming schedule, which will last for 40 days. The film’s lead actors, including Varun Tej, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi, and Naveen Chandra, will take part in this schedule. A major portion of the film’s shoot will be wrapped up in this schedule.

Apparently, Matka makers are planning to complete the production formalities by September end. Popular Tamil composer GV Prakash is rendering tunes for the movie. The film is a joint collaboration between Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments banners.
