Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s recent outing, Mr. Bachchan faced outright rejection at the box office. The action drama directed by Harish Shankar, is the official remake of Ajay Devgn’s superhit Raid. This is the first time Harish Shankar failed to deliver success with a remake. The movie received heavy backlash from cinephiles for its below-par content.
In a recent interview, the film’s producer, TG Vishwa Prasad, expressed his views on the failure. He said, “To start things off, the script isn’t strong enough for a film of that scale. The first half is fairly good, and I liked the inclusion of Hindi songs. I used to listen to those old songs while growing up. Some portions needed trimming, but the first half was still entertaining.”
Vishwa Prasad added, “However, the second half misses quite a few elements. When the engagement factor goes missing, the film requires something extraordinary to compensate for the lost momentum. Still, Mr. Bachchan isn’t a bad film at all. The movie has enough entertainment and it cannot fail this badly. I admit there are issues, but they got extrapolated because of other effects. There is some targeted attack. Just for the songs, the film deserves success.”
