In a public event, Nag Ashwin, the man behind the magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD, revealed the reason behind the film’s title. He said, “Our film starts in the Mahabharat period, and it ends in 2898. That’s the title of the film. It is called Kalki 2898AD. It spans that 6000-year sort of distance in time.”

Nag Ashwin further said, “We are trying to create worlds that are there here, imagining what it could be like. We will still keep it Indian, and our challenge is not to make it look like Blade Runner (a Hollywood sci-fi film). If we go back 6000 years back in time from 2898 AD, we will arrive at 3102 BC, which is when they say the last avatar of Krishna passed.

These words from Nag Ashwin are going viral all across social media, creating solid buzz around the film. Starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in pivotal roles, Vyjayanthi Movies is bankrolling this flick. This tentpole film will hit the screens on 9th May 2024.
