Nag Ashwin’s directorial Kalki 2898 AD is setting the box office on fire in all territories. In its first week, the movie zoomed past 700 crore gross and is racing towards the 1000 crore mark. Only a few films made it to this elite 1000 crore club, and achieving this milestone is going to be a piece of cake for this Prabhas starrer.
Though the movie is getting humongous love from the audience, there are also complaints regarding the first half. A few expressed their dissatisfaction about the pacing of this part. In a recent interview, Nag Ashwin explained how he crafted the first half. He said, “It was about setting up the world and characters. There was definitely a fear about whether or not people would connect and empathize enough with this new world in the time period that we have.”
Nag Ashwin added, “We have four big stars. Story-wise and market wise, we need to strike a balance. In the first half, we should balance the stars and also, we need to establish three new worlds. So we went in a safe way and tried to let that sink into people. Hence, there is no confusion if it is about the labs or something else. People feel a few places are slow, but that was a choice that we made.”
