Streaming platform Netflix has announced a documentary on Pride of Telugu cinema SS Rajamouli, and this is indeed a proud moment for all Tollywood lovers. Titled Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli, the docu-film will be available for streaming from August 2nd. The series presented by famous critic Anupama Chopra sheds light on how Rajamouli revolutionized Indian cinema and influenced international cinema.
As per a report in Hollywood media, the documentary will feature insights on the Baahubali director from James Cameron, Joe Russo, Karan Johar, Prabhas, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, and Rana Daggubati. Though Baahubali made him one of the top directors in Indian cinema, it was the massive multi-starrer RRR that made him a household name among the Western audience.
Netflix associated with Applause Entertainment and Film Companion Studios to create this documentary. The 74-minute (1 hour and 14 minutes) docu-film will have interviews and behind-the-scenes footage highlighting the filmmaker’s extraordinary journey. Rajamouli plans to conquer the overseas market with his next film featuring Mahesh Babu, and the documentary is expected to solidify Rajamouli’s position at the global level further.
