Acclaimed Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi’s milestone 50th film, Maharaja, is scheduled to open in cinemas on June 14. Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, the film also features award-winning Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in an author-backed role.
Owing to Vijay Sethupathi’s popularity across the twin Telugu states, Maharaja will be dubbed in Telugu and released in a decent number of screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. NVR Cinema banner has shelled out big bucks and acquired the rights to release Maharaja in Telugu. Promotions for Maharaja’s Telugu version began recently.
Maharaja has been produced jointly by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy under the banners Passion Studios and The Route respectively. Mamta Mohandas, Bharathiraja, and Abhirami play key roles in the movie. B Ajaneesh Loknath is the film’s music composer.
