The Bollywood industry is in a bad situation currently with a continuous series of flops. Even an Amir Khan film was rejected outrightly due to its below-par content. Hence few producers are opting for a direct OTT release of their films.
In this regard, it is now being heard that Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani’s Govinda Naam Mera produced by Dharma Productions is reportedly sold to Star network for a whopping 62 crores. Out of the total deal, the digital rights account for 42 crores.
It is said that this comic entertainer may not be ideal for the big screen and hence the makers opted for a direct OTT release. Bhumi Pednekar is also playing a key role as Vicky Kaushal’s wife in this film. Shashank Kaitan is the director. The film will be very soon coming to Disney Plus Hotstar. The official confirmation will be out in the coming days.
