Kollywood star Chiyaan Vikram’s Thangalaan is gearing up for its world theatrical release on August 15. Noted Tollywood production house Mythri Movie Makers is releasing the film’s Telugu version. Thangalaan stars, including Vikram, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, and Hollywood actor Daniel, landed in Hyderabad yesterday to promote the movie.
During a media interaction, Vikram had some nice things to say about leading Telugu film star and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. “I admire Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s work. His decade-long dedication to politics and rise to the Deputy CM post is a remarkable achievement. Pawan Kalyan is like a ray of hope to all those who consider entering politics,” said Vikram.
Talking about Thangalaan, Vikram said that Thangalaan’s story is relatable to everyone, not just in Telugu, Tamil, or Kannada, but globally. “While the film highlights gold hunting, it also features a struggle for freedom. It transcends categorization. Thangalaan’ is named after a tribe. I researched various tribes, including the African tribes, to understand their appearance and contribute to the film’s authenticity. I believe Thangalaan will be a surprising experience in theaters.
Directed by acclaimed Kollywood filmmaker Pa Ranjith, Thangalaan is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the Studio Green Films banner, in association with Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions. The film’s story is set against the Kolar Gold Fields backdrop and is based on real events that occurred several decades ago.
