Prabhas’ blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD locks its OTT release date

With the sci-fi action drama Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas delivered the biggest blockbuster of the year in Indian cinema. Needless to say, there were massive expectations before the release as the film is spearheaded by some of the big names, including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. But the movie did the unthinkable by storming past the 1000 crores gross mark.

Apart from Kalki, only five Indian movies went past the four-digit mark. This Nag Ashwin’s directorial completed 50 glorious days in cinemas which is a rarity in this OTT era. Now, this mega entertainer is set to ablaze the digital screens. According to the latest update, Kalki 2898 AD will be available for streaming from August 22nd on Prime Video.

The digital platform confirmed the release of Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions on the said date. There is a healthy gap of eight weeks between theatrical and OTT release. Production house Vyjayanthi Movies should be appreciated for not bringing the movie on the OTT platform sooner.

The Hindi version’s rights are with Netflix, and the platform has revealed that even the Hindi dubbed version would make its debut on 22nd August. This mighty blockbuster is sure to break more records digitally.
