After starring in numerous movies, Malayalam’s young beauty, Mamitha Baiju, received acclaim for her performance in Premalu, a recent Mollywood blockbuster set to release in Telugu on March 8, 2024.
A clip from her FM interview, released almost a couple of weeks ago, went viral as she claimed that director Bala hit her during the filming of Vanangaan, prompting her to withdraw from the project.
The clip sparked controversy, with many criticizing Bala. However, a twist emerged when the actress addressed the issue on her Instagram account. She stated, “I would like to clarify that the news being circulated online regarding my involvement with a Tamil film is absolutely baseless. An excerpt from a film promotion interview has been taken out of context and is being clearly misquoted to create this irresponsible headline. I have worked with Bala Sir for close to a year, including pre-production and production of the film.”
She further clarified, “He has always been kind enough to help me become a better actor. I would like to reiterate that I have not experienced any mental or physical harm or any other sort of abusive behavior during my work on that film. I opted out of that film later on, only because of other professional commitments. I would also like to thank those Media Houses who have contacted me to verify the news before publishing. Thank you for your understanding.”
With her clarification, netizens are now in a state of confusion. Meanwhile, many Telugu audiences eagerly await her debut in Tollywood. We’ll have to wait and see when it comes to fruition.
