Suriya and director Vetrimaaran’s Vaadivaasal should have kickstarted long back but the film faced multiple delays since the director invested more than expected time in Viduthalai franchise. Vaadivaasal is based on Tamil Nadu’s most celebrated traditional sport, Jallikattu. Fans got pretty excited when the project was announced, but as the movie kept facing continuous delays, there was a sense of disappointment.
Suriya’s form has also been a concern, and fans have opined that the actor should start working on Vaadivaasal immediately. Finally, the film’s producer, Kalaipuli S Thanu, lifted the suspense surrounding this sports drama during the promotions of Kichcha Sudeep’s Max. He said, “Suriya sir was ready, but he was waiting for Vetrimaaran to complete Viduthalai.”
Kalaipuli S Thanu added, “Now that Viduthalai has been released, Vetrimaaran will start focusing on Vaadivaasal. The animatronics work is currently in the final stage in London. The film will start rolling soon.” The director is keen on spending more time on pre-production to get things right, and Suriya will start shooting for Vaadivaasal as soon as he completes his film with RJ Balaji.
