The grand pre-release event for Ram and Puri Jagannadh’s soon-to-release mass action entertainer, Double iSmart, was held in Warangal tonight. Speaking at the event, Puri revealed an emotional telephonic conversation he had with V Vijayendra Prasad, the script writer of the Baahubali franchise, RRR, and several blockbusters.
“One week after my previous movie (Liger) was released and flopped, I received a call from Vijayendra Prasad garu. He never calls me, and I was surprised to get a call from him. He asked me, “Sir, could you please do me a favor?” I wondered what I could do for the man whose son is SS Rajamouli. He went on to ask me to narrate the story to him whenever I make my next movie. He then told me, “I can’t see directors like you failing due to small mistakes.” I was very emotional after his call,” said the star director.
Puri went on to reveal that he, however, didn’t narrate Double iSmart’s story to Vijayendra Prasad. “I will meet him after the film’s release. I made Double iSmart with utmost dedication,” Puri concluded. It’s well known that Puri Jagannadh is Vijayendra Prasad’s favorite director, and the veteran writer even had Puri’s photograph as his mobile wallpaper.
