Allu Arjun’s PAN Indian action drama Pushpa 2: The Rule is on a record-breaking spree. The movie, directed by Sukumar, is on its way to becoming the new industry hit in Bollywood. The collections have already zoomed past the Rs. 600 crores nett mark and are expected to touch Rs. 800 crores in the long run.
Pushpa 2 has now achieved a rare feat in Indian cinema: This Allu Arjun starrer became the only movie to collect Rs. 200 crore nett in the Mumbai circuit, showcasing its dominance in one of the biggest regions of the country. The previous record was under the name of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs. 190 crores nett), and Pushpa 2 has now shattered the long-breaking record of Rajamouli’s directorial.
One thing we need to note here is that both sequels from South cinema have set unprecedented records in the Hindi market. If made well, sequels will always earn huge bucks in Hindi, and the upcoming Tollywood sequels that have a chance of making it big in Bollywood are Kalki 2 and Salaar 2.
