Pushpa 2 producers get legal relief
Published on Jan 2, 2025 2:00 pm IST

Released on December 5, 2024, Pushpa 2: The Rule made a massive impact at the box office, grossing over Rs. 1760 crore. However, the premiere night at Sandhya 70mm theater in Hyderabad turned tragic when a stampede broke out, resulting in the death of a woman.

Following the incident, cases were filed against lead actor Allu Arjun and producers Yelamanchili Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni. Today, the producers received relief from the High Court after filing a petition to dismiss the case related to the Sandhya Theatre incident.

The producers argued that they were not responsible for the theater’s security. Their lawyer pointed out that they had informed the police beforehand, which is why so many officers were present at the scene. Despite taking precautions, the incident occurred, and the producers questioned how they could be blamed.

The High Court issued an interim order, preventing the arrest of the producers and directing the police to file a counter affidavit. The next hearing has been set for two weeks, with more details to follow.
