Late actor Chalapathi Rao once made derogatory comments about women, which caused a stir on social media. During the audio launch event of Naga Chaitanya’s Rarandoy Veduka Chudham, Chalapathi Rao said that women are harmful to mental peace and that they are useful only in bed. After the event, all hell broke loose, and many asked the senior actor to take his words back.
In a recent interview, Chalapathi Rao’s son and famous filmmaker Ravi Babu spoke about this issue. “Till now, I haven’t responded to my father’s demeaning comments. I told my father that he needed to apologize as his words had hurt the feelings of women. I felt it was his duty to seek an apology,” said Ravi Babu.
The actor-director added, “We all would have hurt someone in our lives due to the slip of the tongue. What’s important is that we need to realize our mistakes and apologize. Much to his bad luck, my father made such a remark in the presence of the media. He apologized later publicly and has put an end card to it.”
